The course at the West Cornwall Golf Club, near St Ives, was established in 1889, making it the oldest Golf club in the Duchy and one that has also won much acclaim.

The course has a magnificent setting and has been moulded around the natural contours of the sand dunes that form part of the Hayle Estuary and Porth Kidney Sands.  There are panoramic views from almost every hole with St. Ives Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse forming a memorable backdrop to this gem of a golf course.

West Cornwall is almost always played in conditions that can range from a light sea breeze to a strong wind and it's a true test of your golfing abilities. The course has undergone many improvements in recent years. Thanks to its sand base the drainage of the course is naturally excellent and allows it to be played all year round with no winter tees or greens.

Many Cornwall County Champion members of the club have honed their skills here at West Cornwall. This is a place where you have to earn your handicap, and it will be a true reflection of your golfing skills.

Visitors and societies are made more than welcome with discounted green fees and packages to include breakfast, lunch and dinner available.

The clubhouse is packed full of memorabilia of some true golfing greats such as; Jim Barnes (inaugural winner of the USPGA Championship in 1916) and Phil Rowe (Walker Cup 1999 winning team). A well-equipped Pro Shop is available on site too.
