With plants from around the planet scattered throughout this 25 acre National Trust garden in Penzance, west Cornwall, there is something to inspire most people around every corner.

Champion magnolias and vibrant rhododendrons make way for lush banana plants and soaring echiums. Unusually, the restored walled kitchen garden was built to the dimensions of Noah's Ark, and is today used to demonstrate contemporary varieties of fruit and vegetables.

This is a garden where the spirit of the Plant Hunters lives on, with breathtaking spring displays of colourful magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias. Their walled kitchen garden may even inspire creativity with your own garden or growing space, and wide open views across Mount’s Bay will also have you reaching for your camera....a colourfully bordered stream leads up to a shady pond and sunny terrace, with stunning views across Mount's Bay.

At Trengwainton it's easy to lose yourself amongst the winding, wooded paths, maybe a picnic by the stream or simply find yourself a quiet corner to breathe in the peace of this special place.

The cost of entry is reduced for pre-booked groups of 15+ people, plus you can opt for a guided tour (extra charge though my birds) or a free introductory talk too.

As well as a stunning garden they also offer a full range of events for all the family right throughout the year. Everyone has their favourite - with some returning time and time again.

Note: Dogs on leads welcome, except in the tea-room and its garden. Don't forget to pick up your free biodegradable poop bag from reception though inum!
