It is imperative to know the tide times when visiting the beach!

Many people have underestimated the might of the Atlantic ocean around the Cornish coast, and it's very easy to do. It's mesmerizing beauty, coupled with an adventurous holiday spirit, is part of the joy's of this beautiful part of the UK, but high tides can create 'cut-off' points which can make it difficult to get back.

If you are visiting Cornwall with children, they are the age group most at risk. Always supervise young children.

No-one goes to the beach hoping to find trouble, but if you do find yourself in difficulty both 999 and 112 will redirect to the emergency services - ASK FOR THE COASTGUARD.

A lot of brave souls in Cornwall risk their lives, not always successfully either, to save others in difficulty, so please make a note of the tide times before you arrive and try to have a safety plan ready should things not go according to plan.
