Prussia Cove1

Prussia Cove, formerly called King's Cove but also known as Kenneggy Sands, is on the coast of Mount's Bay, close to Praa Sands and lying to the east of Cudden Point, west Cornwall.

It is renown for the 18th Century shipwrecker & smuggler John Carter (born in 1738), who was also known as the 'King of Prussia'. The story that he once opened fire on a revenue cutter from a small battery which he had made at the Cove is well known along the coast.

Cudden Point, the prominent headland, is owned by the National Trust and nearby Praa Sands beach is also worth a visit.

Prussia Cove is located off the A394 (take the turning at Rosudgeon).
