Portmellon, nr Mevagissey

Portmellon is situated just outside of Mevagissey. It's a realtively small cove but offers a sandy beach and calm waters. It's a good place to get away from the bustle of Meva on a busy summers day.

There is a fine Cornish inn overlooking the beach; The Rising Sun, otherwise facilities are somewhat limited especially compared to whats available round the corner in Mevagissey.

If walking, simply follow the hill out of Mevagissey harbour (Polkirt Hill) - its probably about half a mile from the harbour. If driving, you can follow the same route via Polkirt Hill, or take the scenic route via the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Caerhays & Gorran Haven.
