Porthcothan Bay can often be a little quieter than some other beaches along the north Cornish coast, so if you're looking to get away from the madding crowds this might be the spot for you.

Parking is available close to the beach (with public toilet facilities too) and there is also a small shop just before the sand dunes. Lifeguard cover during the summer.

It's quite a narrow beach so be careful of potential rip currents. Lovely walking country along the coastpath here too.

Porthcothan can be found off the A39 or alternatively from the route along the north Cornish coast (from the B3276 between Bedruthan Steps and Harlyn Bay).

Other beaches nearby:

Harlyn Bay          Daymer Bay          Watergate Bay
