Pentillie Castle and Estate in east Cornwall has had a rich and varied past. It was built in 1698, remodelled in 1809 and now, under the careful watch of current owners, The Corytons, it has been lovingly renovated to recapture its former glory.

The estate stretches over 2000 acres of undulating land in the heart of the Tamar Valley on the Cornwall & Devon border. Extensive gardens, formal lawns, parklands and ancient woodlands form the backdrop to a wonderful location for boutique B&B stays, intimate weddings, shooting parties and other memorable events, both personal and public.

Pentillie’s beautiful gardens are open to the public on specific days throughout the year. You can also join one of the guided garden tours, usually held on the first Thursday of the month, March to September.

'Invitation to View' is a wonderful scheme at Pentillie whereby visitors are invited to look around private parts of house and gardens that are not usually open to the public. The Invitation to View tours at Pentillie are usually conducted by Ted or Sarah Coryton, or their daughter Sammie.

Alternatively, if you can gather 15 or more people, they can arrange a private group tour. Pentillie Castle is a perfect country venue to hire exclusively for your wedding party, anniversary or special occasion. Hiring the castle exclusively ensures that you will be the only guests at the castle during your stay. No one else will be using the swimming pool, having a birthday party in the dining room, or taking a guided tour of the gardens!
