The Golf Club was formed in 1890 with Mr. H. F. Whitefield as its first President. Although not a particularly long course and somewhat squashed into it's surroundings, Newquay golf club offers some spectacular views and challenging golf. The club perches directly above Fistral Beach!

The course becomes that much more challenging if the weather is blowing a hooley too my birds! It's a very open links course, which makes it pretty darn difficult in windy conditions. A fair but tough test of golf, especially so if you've never played the course before.

Measuring 6141 yards long off the Blue Tees, Newquay’s scenic seaside location overlooking the famous Fistral Beach provides an ideal location for a course that is both challenging and rewarding to play. The par 69 course is renowned for having some of the best greens in the county and is well protected by some well placed pot bunkers, making accuracy the key to good scoring.

Newquay Golf Club has also been graced with its fair share of Royal visits. Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and Prince Albert (later to become King George VI) spent many enjoyable golfing holidays at Newquay from 1911 onwards and were honorary life members of the Clubs.

To this day, the club offers plenty of variety for members, family and friends that pay it a visit. Throughout the years, the traditions have been carried through, making Newquay Golf Club a place of many memories and where loyal club members that have shared countless experiences.

Notes: Newquay Golf Club is probably the only course that you will ever play where you'll have to wait for people crossing a footpath carrying surfboards!
