Mousehole is a quaint coastal Cornish village located about 2.5 miles from Penzance. Until the 16th century Mousehole was actually one of the principal ports of Mount's Bay. It was pretty much obliterated in the 1595 by the Spanish during a raid by Spaniard Carlos de Amésquita.

These days Mousehole is better known as a tourist destination. Along the harbour road you’ll find galleries, gift shops and restaurants. There is a safe, sandy beach in the harbour at low tide.

Mousehole is also known for its Christmas Lights, which was started in 1963 by Mousehole-based artist, Joan Gillchrest.
