Fishing Trips in Mevagissey

Age group: 10+

Location: SOUTH Cornwall

Contact: nr Mevagissey,

TEL: n/a

Mevagissey offers a good range of sea fishing opportunities, from deep sea wreck fishing to hiring your own small motor boat for a spot of mackerel spinning around the bay.

Depending on who you go with, most equipment is normally provided with regards to organised fishing trips, and you will be guided to best spots by local fishermen who know this area like the back of their hand. You can normally find 2, 4, 6 & 8 hour trips from the harbour, or fishing tackle store close by.

Many organised trips may have a catch and release system to help provide a sustainable future for our Cornish sea's. This means the animal gets to swim another day and you also don't have to lug a 6ft shark home purely to impress the wife/kids/friends!

As you would expect in an established Cornish fishing village, fishing is quite a popular pastime here. You may often see many a fisherman on the end of the harbour, especially in the evening with the promise of a lovely bass for supper..!

You'll no doubt even pick up a few tips on how to improve your fishing, where the best spots are, what the locals prefer to use as bait and maybe even a few interesting smuggling tales too!

For those of you who don't fish, there are still plenty of boat trips & excurions; from short trips around the south cornish coastline to return excursions to the Roseland and beyond.
