The Eden Project

One of Cornwall's most visited attractions, The Eden Project near Charlestown & St Austell does much more than offer a memorable day out in mid Cornwall. Eden is a charity and social enterprise which prides itself on education.

As well as creating stunning gardens and laying on fantastic arts and music events, a lot of energy also goes into running transformational social and environmental projects, creating excellent learning experiences for students, doing valuable research into plants and conservation issues, plus making sure they work in the greenest possible way.

As an educational charity, they also use gardening as a way of empowering others, engaging and connecting people through commendable special outreach projects. The outreach projects are designed to offer memorable experiences and vital life skills to those who can normally  be socially excluded including; prisoners, the homeless, the disabled and the unemployed.

To help young people make the most of Eden's fantastic venue, they have also created a whole range of workshops, events and resources too. That's if you can take yourself away from the biomes. Just remember, they can be very warm in the height of summer so be prepared to take off a few layers!

It's not all about the biomes either. Outside there are great places to explore, the zipwire attraction allows you to actually 'fly' over the biomes, there's ice skating at Christmas (this is a temporary attraction where the main music stage for Eden Sessions usually are).

All in all - Eden is a great day out. An all-weather visitor attraction that caters for pretty much all age groups.
