Culdrose Air Day is the only day of the year when the public can step into the world of Culdrose and experience the sights and sounds of a working military Naval Air Station. Famed for many heroic rescues, and with frontline helicopter Squadrons supporting the Navy across the globe, Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose is home to a variety of military aircraft including Merlin and Sea King helicopters, Hawk Jets, and the King Air 350 Avengers.

 

You will be blown away by awesome flying displays, be able to meet the heroic Aircrew who fly our helicopters around the world, get up close to state-of-the art aircraft and learn all about life in the Royal Navy. Culdrose Air Day is a great day out for the whole family, you will be amazed by the amount of things to see and do here. Aerobatic display teams flying fast jets and helicopters from Britain and other armed forces from around the world will thrill you with exciting, action packed flying displays. The speed and noise will literally take your breath away.

 

As well as awesome flying displays, there is plenty to do on the ground too - meet the heroic Aircrew who fly helicopters around the world, get up close to state-of-the art aircraft and learn all about life in the Royal Navy. On the ground there will be a large static display of aircraft. Here you will be able to get up close to a wide variety of modern and historic aircraft, and have your picture taken with your favourite.

 

Why not climb onboard state-of-the-art aircraft, take a ride in a helicopter or be winched high into the air...?!  

 

Culdrose is one of Europe’s largest helicopter bases and delivers highly capable Helicopter Squadrons specialising in Anti-Submarine Warfare, Anti-Surface Warfare and Airborne Surveillance and Control. Additionally, the base’s ‘Search and Rescue’ Squadron is on constant standby 365-days a year to react to emergencies on land and sea throughout the Southwest region.
