Coasteering the Cornish coast

Coasteering is the ultimate activity if you fancy a bit more than a sedate stroll along the Cornish coast path.

As you traverse the border between land and sea you will explore remote coves and crags, clamber along barnacled ledges, plunge into swirling surf, abseil down cliff faces and scramble through coastal caves. This is adrenalin-fuelled, action-packed and truly adventurous!

There is no better way to get up close and personal with Cornwall's marine life than coasteering. As Cornwall has such a beautiful coastline, it's fantastic to see it from a different point of view, explore nooks and crannies and experience the mesmeric rise and fall of the Atlantic ocean.

Coasteering is not be confused with the extremely dangerous and foolish pursuit of tombstoning by the way. Coasteering is a properly organised activity led by experienced instructors, all of which are qualified lifesavers too. They are local to the area and know this stretch of the Cornwall coastline very well - which is imperative. Never underestimate the power of the ocean and tides.

If coasteering is something you would like to try, you can find bookbale sessions led by professional coasteering guides at;

Hot Rock Climbs, Newquay / Harlyn Surf School, Padstow / Lusty Glaze Beach Complex, near Newquay / Active-8 in South East Cornwall and Outdoor Adventure in Bude
