The Shipwreck and historical artefacts on display in this shipwreck heritage centre at Charlestown are the largest private collection of this type on public display in the whole of Europe. It has been brought together over the last 50 or so years, and it forms the basis of one of the most unusual and interesting collections that are open to the public.

The many and varied exhibitions reflect village life in Charlestown, it's history, shipwrecks and also the once thriving China Clay industry. This exhibition shows a tremendous range of maritime history dating all the way back to 1715 and the heritage centre features one of the largest underwater diving equipment collections in the entire country, including various suits used for treasure seeking and naval purposes.

Children and adults alike will be fascinated by what's on display at this interesting mid Cornwall visitor attraction. There are hoards of pieces of eight, little knick knacks and other maritime bits and bobs that will transport you back in time into Cornwall's seafaring history. There are countless items from a bygone age as well as artefacts from over 150 shipwrecks.

Don't miss the cahance to see the fascinating story told by many of the exhibits in the Titanic collection. There is also an 'I-Spy' trail around the attraction for younger children, designed to keep them interested and make your visit more fun - If you get them all right you'll even get a little prize too!
