CALLINGTON Cornish: Kelliwik

Towards the Tamar Valley in east Cornwall lies Callington, which, incidentally, was one of the most important mining areas in Great Britain back in the 18th century.

Local attractions nearby include a nearly intact wellhouse built over a spring in the 16th century; Dupath Well (once thought to cure whooping cough my luvvers), Morwellham Quay, Tamar Valley Donkey Park and more (see below for more things to do in the area).

In recent years, the town has seen quite a lot of development and has grown exponentially.

Callington has been postulated as one of the possible locations of the ancient site of Celliwig, associated with the legendary King Arthur!
