BODMIN Cornish: Bosvenegh

With Bodmin's location in mid Cornwall, it's an ideal base to explore the entire county of Cornwall. Bodmin used to be the main county town before the courts moved across to Truro.

There are a number of popular visitor attractions nearby including; the Camel Trail, Bodmin & Wenford Railway and Bodmin Jail; operational for over 150 years but now a semi-ruin, which was built in the late 18th century. It was the first British prison to hold prisoners in separate cells (though often up to 10 at a time).

More visitor attractions & things to do whilst visiting Bodmin are listed on the interactive map below! Also on the map are local services such as fuel filling stations, atms, supermarkets,  opticians & more.

Did you know..? The Black Death killed half of Bodmin's population in the mid 14th century (that was around 1500 people my birds)..!
