Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium is situated at the edge of Towan Beach in the centre of Newquay in north Cornwall, opposite the famous island.


Be amazed by the local marine species from the Cornish coast to hundreds of tropical species in the gigantic ocean display complete with underwater tunnel. Open every day of the year with the exception of Christmas Day, there is over 40 living displays featuring fascinating marine life from around the world, Blue Reef has plenty to offer all age visitors.


Over 40 naturally themed habitats take you on a fantastic journey from Cornish waters to exotic seas.  Come face to face with freshwater turtles, watch pulsating jellyfish and meet amazing pufferfish! At the Aquarium’s heart is the ocean tank where an underwater tunnel offers incredible views of giant Loggerhead turtle, reef sharks and shoals of colourful fish. The centrepiece of the aquarium is the spectacular coral reef housed within a giant ocean display.


Discover the amazing diversity of species found on Cornish coasts, these tanks are dedicated to our local unsung heroes, including colourful wrasse, pipefish, sea bream, bass and weaver fish.


It is family friendly with under 3's admitted free and family tickets also available.  The aquarium is even baby-friendly with changing facilities, it's accessible for push-chairs, and multi-level displays mean even the smallest family members get a great view!
